Hinge Digital and Seattle-based agency Copacino Fujikado teamed up on an out of this world campaign for Sound Transit. Our creative team and director Ty Clancey pitched a “retro” live+vfx one-stop-shop production solution to the campaign, rooting our alien performances in relatable and very human situations. No AI on this one!
We started with a one day live action shoot in a real office location, featuring a trio of talented union actors in full prosthetics alien makeup, thanks to our team of SFX makeup artists who created their uniquely and friendly looks.
In Post, we teamed up with Copacino’s in house edit team to lock our cuts and launch into VFX. To enhance the humanity and emotional resonance of our aliens, 0ur CG team tracked their faces using Keen Tools and Blender, animated subtle facial movements in Maya, created the projector and transporter effects and final compositing in Nuke. Hinge also seamlessly managed color grading, sound design and mix with our talented partners—to deliver an exciting broadcast and social campaign for the brand!
